A bit of history regarding hunting symbols:
It was very common for Pre-civilized man and Native American hunters to use symbols to represent bravery and great successes in harvesting wild game animals. Some early hunters kept antlers, teeth, and sometimes skulls of fallen game to use as status symbols or decorative items. Native American Indians often painted images to symbolize successful hunting events.
Before the civilization of man, hunting was an essential part of everyday survival. Success in the field determined in large part where men were placed in thier respective hierarchies. The most successful hunters were considered more important and obtained more rank among thier people. Native American cultures likewise demonstrated similar status methods. Tipis were often decorated with painted symbols that represented bravery or successful hunts. Leaders and great warriors had the most decorated tipis in the village.
Many methods used to keep track of memorable hunts were perhaps crude in years past, but nonetheless of great importance. As humanity has evolved, trophies and other mementos for accomplishments in most sporting events go hand in hand. At HuntingPins.com, we feel hunting accomplishments should be recognized and remembered as well.
We hope to provide the passionate outdoorsman with high quality keepsakes by which to symbolize successful hunts and priceless memories in the field. We believe our pins can serve this need perfectly, and we hope that you will enjoy them as much as we do.
